Islamabad, December 10 (Sost Today): Around 50 trekkers, adventurers and climbers from all over Pakistan attended the annual meet up organized by Trekking Pakistan here in Islamabad on Sunday. Trekking Pakistan is non-commercial organization which provide online platform to share experience and coordination for the Pakistani trekkers, climbers and adventurers.
In the meet up the participants shared their experiences, adventure stories, thoughts and ideas at the meet up event.

Sost, Gojal : Chief secretary Gilgit Baltisan Younis Dagha visit Khunjerav National Park and Khunjerav Villager Organization conservation area. During his two day stay he visit Khunjerav national park and visit different conservational area under the control of KVO and witnessed Ibex, Blue sheep, Marco Polo Sheep and other wild animals and birds there. Mr. Dagha was briefed by the KVO official about the wildlife conservation activates. He also spent some time in a Wildlife site at Sost, where some wild Fauna and Floras are preserved.
November 14 Sost Gojal: Sukhtarabad is situated 10KM northeast to KKH in Khunjerav valley. Big game hunter has easy access to Blue Sheep, Ibex and Marco polo sheep. Sukhtarabad is well known for Blue Sheep specifically.

Khunjerav Villager Organization KVO a cluster community institution, supervise and manage trophy hunting, tours and trekking here. Yesterday the members of KVO visit Sukhtarabad to overview the trekking routes, which were badly damaged due to land sliding.
This year three foreign hunters are expected to visit Sukhtarbad for trophy hunting of Blue Sheep
According to a source that the hunting fees of Blue Sheep has been increased from 7,500 USD to 12,000 USD.

Hunza: Khawar Hassan and Javaid, the residents of Lahore have started a cycling tour “Destination Pakistan cycle tour” yesterday from Khunjerav Pass. The cyclists will travel through Karakorum Highway, GT road and Indus civilization to Karachi. It is expected that the campaign will complete in thirty-day.
The cyclist has reached Hunza this evening and will leave for Gilgit tomorrow morning.
The prime motto of this campaign is to explore the natural beauty of Pakistan and Gilgit Baltistan particularly. The cyclist said that this is the piece of contribution to promote tourism and to convey the message of peace to the international communities.

It is in fact the only trade route in the world that winds its way through some of the world’s greatest mountain ranges, the Karakoram, the Hindu Kush and the Great Himalayas, linking the Occident to the Orient.
Its construction spanned a period of twelve years, from 1966 to 1978. The gargantuan task of the making of this highway through lofty mountains took with it the lives of around 1100 Chinese and Pakistani soldiers involved in its construction. To truly pay tribute to the men who built this great road and to honor this highway, one mush journey on it. Its importance to Afiatabad is greatly attached and infect it also helped the people of northern areas of Pakistan. With the passage of time the governments of Pakistan and china were agreed to sign a cord in which the decided to establish a check post in the heart of Sost, and both the government will promote their trade and business. Afiatabad was irrigated 1980 by a famous social worker Afiat Khan (1932-1992). Afiat Khan proved himself as a great leader and his bright vision proved that Afiatabad is one of the suitable places in Northern Areas which improve the economic condition of the people the transferability of old check post (Sost) to Afiatabad took place in 1992.Afiat Khan passed away in the same year and his effort turned into reality.
Afiatabad is lying in the northern areas of Pakistan 2 KM from the culturally rich and historically significant village of Sost surrounded by huge mountains and hills. In the eastern portion, Silk Route Dry Port is situated in the heart of HussainabadSost and in the western side Khuadabad is situated. Afiatabad is one of the unique places, which stands on the Karakuram Highway.

ST Correspondent: Department of Tourism and culture Gilgit Baltistan is going to organize Baba Ghundi festival at Chipursan Gojal on 29 August.
The event encompass different cultural segments, polo tournament, Tent pegging and a Sufi night.
Speaking to media, Adviser to G-B Chief Minister on Tourism and culture Sadia Danish told this is a part of calendar of event to enhance tourism in Gilgit Baltistan and maximum tourists can visit the region. She also said that the department of tourism and culture will utilize all its resources to make this event successful and for the development of tourism in GB.
