Islamabad, Dec 21: A fourteen member delegation of Xinjiang Television is visiting Pakistan for making a documentary on “New Journey on the Silk Road”, with special emphasis on “China-Pakistan Friendship” and “China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”.
The corridor is a historic project which would trace the prints of old “Silk Route” and will connect China with Pakistan and onwards with Central Asia and East Europe. It would not only benefit and bring prosperity to both countries but also generate economic activity, peace and stability to the people of the whole region.
Pakistan China premiers agreed in May 2014 to build an economic corridor starting from China’s Kashgar City-an old Silk Road City- to Pakistan’s South western strategic sea port Gwadar to connect South=Central Asian the region and boost regional trade , communication, transportation.
Islamabad, Dec 8: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong has said that Pakistan China Economic Corridor will boost Sino-Pakistan ties bringing the people of the two countries more close.
He further said bilateral relations between Pakistan and China will further strengthen with the building of the economic corridor.
Sun Weidong made these remarks while speaking at a cultural show organized by Chinese Overseas Exchange Association and Chinese Embassy in Islamabad on Thursday.
The cultural troupe from the Xinjiang region mesmerized the audience with its performance.

BEIJING, DEC 5 : Pakistan Embassy will provide all-out help, encouragement and facilitation to the Chinese investors intending to make investments in diverse areas of Pakistan’s economy, Ambassador Masood Khalid has said.
The Ambassador was talking to senior chief executive officers of different Chinese entities already working in Pakistan as well as the potential investors from energy, infrastructure, and communications sectors, in Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that during Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s visit to China in July, both sides had signed eight cooperative agreements and MoUs to further enhance economic cooperation. Hunza: Khawar Hassan and Javaid, the residents of Lahore have started a cycling tour “Destination Pakistan cycle tour” yesterday from Khunjerav Pass. The cyclists will travel through Karakorum Highway, GT road and Indus civilization to Karachi. It is expected that the campaign will complete in thirty-day.
The cyclist has reached Hunza this evening and will leave for Gilgit tomorrow morning.
The prime motto of this campaign is to explore the natural beauty of Pakistan and Gilgit Baltistan particularly. The cyclist said that this is the piece of contribution to promote tourism and to convey the message of peace to the international communities.

Hussainabad, Sost ( ST Correspondent): Over all 31 candidates submitted their nomination paper to contest in the upcoming election of Silk Route Dry Port Trust. 8 candidates submitted nomination for Chairmanship, 3 for vice chairmanship and 20 candidates submitted nomination paper for directorship respectively.
The final list of the nominees will be announced on 11th of August after the Scrutiny of their documents by a 5 body election commission, headed by Rai Ghulam Muhammad. Sabir (Secretary), Farman Ali (Info Secretary), Meharban Shah and Muhammad Nazar are the members of the election commission.
The election will be held on 17th of this month, and the successful candidates will take the oath of their position on the same day.
Whereas the elected chairman of Silk Route Dry port Trust will also serve as Vice Chairman of Pak China Sost Dry Port Company, jointly run by Sino Trans Group-state owned enterprise of China and SRDPT. And two elected directors will be the part of board of directors of Pak China Sost Dry Port Company.
