BEIJING, DEC 5 : Pakistan Embassy will provide all-out help, encouragement and facilitation to the Chinese investors intending to make investments in diverse areas of Pakistan’s economy, Ambassador Masood Khalid has said.
The Ambassador was talking to senior chief executive officers of different Chinese entities already working in Pakistan as well as the potential investors from energy, infrastructure, and communications sectors, in Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that during Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s visit to China in July, both sides had signed eight cooperative agreements and MoUs to further enhance economic cooperation. Sost Gojal, November 30(Sost Today): The Pakistan – China will be closed for all types of traffic from November 30 to March 30, 2014. The route will remain close due to heavy snow fall at Khunjerav Pass during the winters.
Usually the Pak-China border closes on December 31 and reopens on May 01. This year the border has closed one months earlier.
The last cap of consignments reach Sost today. Whereas the Pak-China Sost Dry Port will remain open till December 4, 2013.
According to a source that the volume of trade between Pakistan and China was comeratively higer than the past three years. Which was low after the blockage of KKH at Attabad, Hunza.

The annual budget of Gilgit-Baltistan Council worth Rs826 million against revenue target of Rs543 million was presented for the year 2013-14 at Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) on Friday.
The deficit will be met through federal grants, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and G-B Chaudhry Barjees Tahir said while unveiling the budget. G-B Governor Pir Karam Ali Shah as the vice chairman of G-B Council chaired the session.
The budget will be passed in the next session on November 26, which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will preside as chairman of the council.
Out of the total outlay, an amount of Rs325 million was allocated for development spending and the remaining for current expenditures. Continue reading

Sost, Gojal: Giligit-Baltistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GBCCI), Gilgit-Baltistan Importer and Exporter Association (GBIEA) and Custom Clearance Agency Associations strike come to an end today here at Pak China Sost Dry Port. They were on strike from last three days.
According to Importers and Exporters, Pakistan Customs as agreed to reduce the taxes rate of up to 30 Percent on the Imported Items/Goods. The Pakistan Customs authorities have urged that the importers to maintain the same Tax Rate till the end of closure of Sino-Pak Boarder.

On 14 of October the delegation will meet Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan, Sayed Mehdi Shah Chinese ambassador and the administration of GB in Hunza.
The delegation had scheduled a meeting with the board of directors and trustees of Pak China Sost Dry Port Co on 15 of October.

Sost, Gojal (ST): Conflict rose among relief destitution committee and people of Gojal. The conflict raised when NDMA and Administration of Hunza-Nagar introduced new formula for the distribution of the relief goods received from China for the affectees of Attaabad disaster. According to the new formula the relief will be distributed to 457 households, who are directly affected by the disaster or who have lost their land. While the people of Gojal has rejected this formula and approached Hunza court for justice. They are demanding to restore the previous standard formula to be adopted for the distribution of the relief goods equally to the standard population of Gojal.
According to them the whole Tehsil of Gojal have been affected due the Attaabad Lake. All the people of Gojal deserve the relief and they are also agreeing to give preference to the direct affectees and IDPs. Hunza court has issued stay order till 3rd of this month, and ordered to stop the process of distribution of relief till the above mentioned date. The court has ordered the relief distribution committee, administration of Hunza Nagar and NDMA to review their decision.

LAHORE: Pakistan plans to establish industrial parks and economic zones along the proposed Kashgar-Gwadar trade corridor that will connect China’s western autonomous regions with Balochistan, official sources said on Thursday.
As per the alignment of Kashgar-Gwadar or Pak-China Motorway, this trade corridor will be around 2,000km long within the territory of Pakistan, crisscrossing snow-caped mountains, narrow valleys, lush green fields, sand dunes and dry hills. Continue reading
